Disneyland!

As part of Kenley's Christmas this year we decided to take her to Disneyland. It truly is, for a child, one of the the happiest places on earth! As we entered through the gates to the magical theme park Kenley's little face lit up! It was so much fun watching her experience all the magic Disney has to offer and meet a few characters. Of course, Kenley had to dress up like her favorite princess, Cinderella! I may be slightly partial, but she is the cutest Cinderella I've ever seen :) Unfortunately, the day we went was rainy and cold, however we still had a wonderful time.

Christmas!

This year Christmas was even more exciting as Kenley was eagerly anticipating all of our family traditions and of course Santa.  Kenley was also super excited to celebrate Jesus' birthday! It is important for us as a family for our girls to understand and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. When talked about Christmas this year Kenley would almost always mention, "baby Jesus." LOVE!

We have for the past few years celebrated Christmas a few weeks early in CA then spent Christmas morning in KS with our families. We had a wonderful Holiday season and are so excited to celebrate next Christmas as a family of four!

Baby # 2!

We're pregnant...
Yes, this post comes very late in my pregnancy as we're now 23 weeks pregnant, and everyone already knows. However, in all fairness I was extremely sick for the first 16 weeks, and I'm finally feeling like myself again. At around 12 weeks, I started feeling better during the daytime, however nights were still very difficult. I only got sick about 4 times, however I was in a constant state of nausea. I had HORRIBLE heartburn, headaches, cramping, and like most pregnancies I was beyond exhausted. I assumed that my second pregnancy was going to be very similar to my first, which was not the case. I literally didn't have any pregnancy symptoms while pregnant with Kenley, not even cravings! Now that I'm feeling so much better I can really begin to enjoy my pregnancy!

It's a Girl...
I know I've already shared this as well. I'm overly thrilled that we're having another little girl enter our blessed lives! Our diagnostic doctor originally told us at 12 weeks that it appeared as though we were having a little boy. She said 75% chance we were going to have a little boy. She did tell us though that it could be the umbilical cord. I was almost certain we were having a boy since my pregnancy symptoms were so different than my first pregnancy. When we went back in at 20 weeks the doctor asked, "now what did I tell you that sex was?" I said, "75% chance a boy!" She said, "It's actually a GIRL!" I must admit I was quite excited, as I so wanted Kenley to have a sister. I think Blaine was in a little shock at first, however he is beyond ecstatic as well.

Cheers to a continued life wrapped in PINK!

Halloween

This Halloween Kenley dressed up as Cinderella! She is totally into princesses and has already decided she wants to be Rapunzel next Halloween. Blaine and I met up with all the other parents at the daycare Kenley attends to take the kids trick-or-treating around Miss Lynette's (Daycare provider) neighborhood. It was so much fun watching the kids together. After we finished gathering massive amounts of candy in this neighborhood we headed home where I handed out candy to our neighborhood children. I absolutely love seeing all the costumes and the smiles on the little kids faces! Blaine took Kenley around our neighborhood with some of the other children on the block. By this time, I was barely alive as it was still early on in my pregnancy so I was fine with handing out candy.

Kenley and her good friend, Addison!

Trying to get a decent picture of all the kids.

Such big kids now!

Kenley and Kaydee!
It's hard to believe they're 2 weeks apart in age.

Kenley Update

I haven't written about Kenley in several months, and she has changed and learned so much since turning 2. I still cannot believe she is 2 1/2 years old, and she is already asking when she will be 3! She is such a loving, friendly, sassy little girl. She is totally a mommy's girl, however she has daddy wrapped around her little finger as well.

Below are some of the things she is currently doing and activities she enjoys:
  • Is very verbally and is always talking.
  • She loves to play with stickers and could play for hours.
  • Is really into art: painting, stamps, coloring (with markers), etc.
  • Loves to dance and shake her "booty!"
  • Can say the days of the week and the months of the year.
  • Is able to identify the majority of the letters in the alphabet, the sounds, and a word that is associated with the letter. Identifies letters everywhere we go...it's fun watching her learn!
  • Can identify coins (quarter, dime, and penny). Still inconsistent with nickel.
  • Is able to state the vowels of the alphabet.
  • Loves to play with her baby dolls.
  • Is attached to her little pink blanket and Rapunzel doll.
  • Is able to count objects.
  • Has memorized several books that we read to her.
  • Loves to wear tutus! She wants to dress like Fancy Nancy all the time! She's a true girly girl!
  • Is able to state the month and day of her birthday.
  • Is totally into princesses! I think she truly believes she is a princess!
  • Is going through a phase where she is really attached to mommy. However, I've already noticed it subsiding slightly.
  • Is taking gymnastic lessons, however she is asking to take dance. We will probably sign her up for dance too after the Holidays.
  • Likes to sing all the time and knows several songs by memory.
  • LOVES K-State! Is so excited for the game each Saturday!
  • Her favorite colors are pink and purple.
  • Enjoys playing games on mommy's IPhone.
  • Can spell and identify her first and last name.
  • Is really into the Holidays this year which makes it even more fun for us!

We LOVE you little princess!
