3 years old!

Three years old....what?! My baby is growing up too quickly, and I'm finding it truly exciting yet sad all at the same time! We love and adore her more than anything in the world! She has filled our lives with so much love, joy, and happiness. She may be tiny, but boy does she have a larger-than-life personality. Over this past year she has really matured and developed a sense of independence and confidence within herself. She use to be somewhat timid and shy when meeting new people or engaging in new situations. However, she has now developed into an outgoing little sweetie and will join in with confidence in unfamiliar activities. She is beyond sweet and has such a big heart! She also  is somewhat strong-willed and always knows exactly what she wants which can be trying for mommy and daddy at times!

At Kenley's 3-year-old well baby checkup, she weighed 24 pounds (below the 3rd percentile) and was 35 3/4 inches tall (10th percentile).

This past year Kenley has learned and has grown so much. Below are some of the things she is doing and activites she enjoys.
  • She loves to color, paint, work with glue basically anything to do with art she loves!
  • Enjoys going to gymnastics and is looking forward to starting dance and swimming lessons soon.
  • Is so excited to be a big sister!
  • Is able to count in spanish (1 to 15)
  • Loves going to daycare and has developed several close friendships with the girls there.
  • Is totally into playing with her baby dolls and pretending she is the mommy.
  • Enjoys talking to family and friends on face-time.
  • Is excited to start preschool in September and talks about it all the time!
  • LOVES anything to do with princesses! I mean the girl is completely obsessed.
  • Favorite books are the Fancy Nancy collections. She also enjoys reading Dr. Suess books. Basically any book will do for this child, but she for sure has her favorites.
  • Has several books memorized and will let you know if you miss a word on a page :) She has such a great memory. She's constantly amaizng Blaine and I with her ability to recall books, stories, and events that have happened.
  • Is really into playing board games especially Memory and Candyland.
  • Is constantly giving her baby dolls "check-ups" with her doctors kit and diagnosing them with different illness. She will tell them they have a rare case of ........"itis"
  • Loves search and find books and is really good at completing them.
  • Is scared of goosebumps when she gets them :) It's actually super cute!
  • Loves to play dress-up and enjoys pretending to put on makeup!
  • Enjoys playing outside and is learning to like sports a little more. Daddy is very proud of this :)
  • Loves anything to do with K-State!

Easter

This Easter was extra special for our family as we not only celebrated Jesus, but we also celebrated Kenley's 3rd birthday! I still cannot believe my baby girl is 3 years old :( Uncle Jason was here which made the day even more spectacular! Easter morning Kenley woke up to princess balloons at the foot of her bed. We then led her downstairs to explore her Easter basket and hunt for eggs. After we took Jason to the airport we met friends for brunch at The Beach House in Laguna Beach. The restaurant's views were stunning and the food was delicious. I would love to go back for a date night soon. After brunch we went to our friends house for the girls to hunt eggs and play. Later that night we dyed eggs and enjoyed some yummy cake! We had a wonderful day that was filled with joy, love, and celebration!

Disneyland!

As part of Kenley's Christmas this year we decided to take her to Disneyland. It truly is, for a child, one of the the happiest places on earth! As we entered through the gates to the magical theme park Kenley's little face lit up! It was so much fun watching her experience all the magic Disney has to offer and meet a few characters. Of course, Kenley had to dress up like her favorite princess, Cinderella! I may be slightly partial, but she is the cutest Cinderella I've ever seen :) Unfortunately, the day we went was rainy and cold, however we still had a wonderful time.

Christmas!

This year Christmas was even more exciting as Kenley was eagerly anticipating all of our family traditions and of course Santa.  Kenley was also super excited to celebrate Jesus' birthday! It is important for us as a family for our girls to understand and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. When talked about Christmas this year Kenley would almost always mention, "baby Jesus." LOVE!

We have for the past few years celebrated Christmas a few weeks early in CA then spent Christmas morning in KS with our families. We had a wonderful Holiday season and are so excited to celebrate next Christmas as a family of four!
